D3 steel Tool steel with 12% ledeburitic chromium and excellent wear resistance. Essentially used as cutting tools for sheets up to 4 mm thick, trimming dies, blanking dies for paper and plastics, shear cutting edges, and rotational shear edges for sheet thicknesses up to 2 mm. D3 steel is a high carbon 2% and high chromium 12% tool steel with excellent wear resistance. Its supply condition is generally annealed for easy machining, with a suggested hardness of 57-58 HRC once dies and tools are made. Stock Availability of Tool Steel - High Carbon Steel HCHCR D3: This Tool Steel materials are normally available in the various forms of HCHCR D3 Round, HCHCR D3 Square and HCHCR D3 Flat. Bigger size flats are normally available in the forged form. We supply these materials as per our Customer’s cutting Requirement.
